These lamps are used in some industrial and warehousing applications. They are not as efficient as their alternatives, but their use may be dictated by colour rendering requirements. The lamps require only a ballast for additional control. The ovoid glass bulb type has an internal phosphor coating, which converts the UV elements in ’warm’ light, and has a universal burn position.
